Changelog

What's shipped in Dairy Vitals, most recent first.

October, 2026
  • Feed and expenses: record the feeds you use, counted per bag or per kg, and enter what was used each day or as one total for the month. Record the farm's expenses, such as salaries and bills, and see a monthly summary of what you recorded; you can also note what a treatment or an insemination spent on an animal. Workers can log the day's feed and never see the money, and salaries are visible to the owner only. It's included on every plan.
  • Deworming schedule: write your farm's own deworming schedule once, as a few rules by age or by pregnancy and calving, and each animal gets a due date worked out from its birth date, its expected calving and dry-off dates and the doses you have recorded. Animals show as due soon, due today or overdue, and you can record a dose for one animal or for the whole herd at once. The dates come from the schedule your farm sets with its veterinarian; Dairy Vitals does not give veterinary advice. It is part of the Starter and Growth plans.
  • A clearer farm dashboard, in three tabs: Herd counts your animals, Fertility shows the breeding status of the females, and Milk shows today, yesterday, this month so far and this month compared with the same days last month. Owners and managers also get a tab with what the farm has recorded for feed and expenses.
  • Milk: choose how many times a day each animal is milked, or record one total for the whole farm, and log the litres from every milking on one daily sheet; switch between the two at any time and earlier records stay saved. The Milk tab shows today so far, yesterday, the last 7 days and a chart of the last month, each animal's page has a Milk card, and daily and monthly CSV reports can be downloaded. Workers can log milk and correct recent entries. It's included on every plan.
  • Weight: a free cattle weight calculator turns a tape measurement into an estimated weight, on the website with no account needed or from the Weight tab. Save measurements with each animal for a weight history, a chart and the change since the last one, compare weights over a date range or download them as a CSV, or type a weight in directly: entered weights are saved exactly as you type them and are never checked against a scale. Tape results are estimates, not scale readings. It's included on every plan.
  • Animals: edit every detail of an animal after adding it, record a purchase price for one you bought, and delete an animal added by mistake by confirming its tag number. Mark an animal as sold or deceased with the date and an optional sale price, and reactivate it if you made a mistake; its history is kept and it no longer counts toward your animal limit or herd numbers. The animal list shows active animals by default, with a filter for sold, deceased or all.
  • Breed choices are dropdowns when you add or edit an animal, set per country: pick Pure or Cross, then the origin and breed. A farm in a country with no breed list yet, such as Australia for now, gets a plain Breed box to type in, and animals already saved keep their breed.
  • Fix a mistake: edit or delete heat, insemination, pregnancy and treatment records; the expected dates update automatically.
  • Team access: invite managers and workers to your farm by email link and choose what each person can do. Owners manage the team; managers can add and edit animals, record sales and deaths, and export data; workers log records and view the herd. The number of team members follows your plan: 1 on Free, 3 on Starter, and unlimited on Growth.
  • New: dedicated pages for fertility tracking, weight tracking and milk production, plus feed and expenses, each explaining how it works, what you can do and the questions farmers ask most.
September, 2026
  • Free 14-day trial of Starter on your first farm, with no credit card needed: Starter's animal limit and Basic reports unlocked. When the trial ends, the farm returns to the Free plan.
  • A new Billing page shows your plan and how many trial days are left.
  • Password reset links are now emailed to you, and new accounts get a welcome email.
August, 2026
  • Export all your records, free on every plan: a ZIP of CSV files (animals, heat observations, inseminations, pregnancy outcomes and treatments) that opens in Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Basic reports on Starter and above: herd status, what's coming up, and breeding activity, each downloadable as a CSV.
  • When you add an animal that's already pregnant, you can enter her last service date so expected calving and dry-off dates appear right away.
  • A Privacy Policy page.
July, 2026
  • Sign-in redesign: "Continue with Google" and a full forgot/reset-password flow, alongside email and password.
  • New /auth/me endpoint so a Google sign-in routes an existing portal account to the right place, not just farm accounts.
  • New pricing page with separate tiers for the Pakistan and Australia markets, plus a genuinely usable free tier.
  • Contact us page, for sales, support, and general questions.
  • Larger, more prominent logo on the homepage.
June, 2026
  • Rebranded to Dairy Vitals, with a real logo and favicon.
  • Per-animal heat-cycle length: override the standard 21-day estrus cycle for a specific cow when you've observed something different.
  • Farm-wide KPI dashboard — total animals, open/inseminated/pregnant counts, how many need medicine or attention — separate from the animal list.
  • Redesigned the per-cow Fertility Dashboard: a unified timeline across all record types, one-click logging, and plain-English urgent alerts.
  • Left-hand navigation for faster movement between farms and animals.
  • Portal accounts: a platform-level view across every farm, for the team running Dairy Vitals rather than an individual farm.
  • Core fertility tracking: heat observations, inseminations, pregnancy outcomes, and treatments, with an automatically derived status and next-expected-heat prediction for every animal.
